Kyle Hartzell
After retiring in 2023, Hartzell is back in the PLL with the Redwoods this season. He played two seasons for the Atlas starting in 2019, then two for the Redwoods before playing his last for the Cannons. He was an assistant coach for Boston during the 2024 season. He also played in the MLL from 2008 to 2018. The seven time All-Star has the second most pole goals of all time.
He was the Head Coach at Texas from 2022-2025. In that time the Longhorns won three LSA Championships and also won their first MCLA National Tournament game in 2024 after completing an undefeated regular season.
Dylan Hess
Hess was named an All-Pro in his rookie season with the Waterdogs last year, but unfortunately tore his ACL early this season. He also played his first season in the NLL this year with the Mammoth.
After being named an All-American at SSDM three times at Georgetown, Hess played his final college season at Florida in 2025. He earned 1st Team All-American honors and led Florida to their first ever MCLA National Tournament win.
Dylan Sheridan
Sheridan has been an assistant with the Waterdogs since 2024 and is also Head Coach at his high school alma mater, Western Reserve Academy in Ohio, where he has turned them into a national powerhouse. Previously he was the first Head Coach at Cleveland State and had stops at Princeton, Denver, Ohio State as an assistant. He has also been a part of the Puerto Rican national team coaching staff.
He was a three time All-American and 2006 WCLL Player of the Year while at Claremont where he was also a member of their NCAA DIII football team. After college he played in the MLL and was a member of the 2014 MLL Champ Denver Outlaws.
He is married to Waterdogs Head Coach Brian Tierney’s daughter, Brianne, the current Head Coach at Kent State.
Louie DeDonatis
DeDonatis has been an assistant with the Waterdogs since 2024.
After winning the 2015 National Championship with Grand Canyon while being named a three time All-American at LSM, he served as Head Coach at Boston College and later Texas.
Todd MacFarlane
MacFarlane joined the Cannons staff this season as an assistant and was on the Redwoods inaugural staff. He previously coached at Maryland, Penn, Malvern Prep (PA), and La Costa Canyon (CA). He played at Anne Arundel CC and Pfeiffer before playing for the NLL’s Anaheim Storm.
He won the 2005 MCLA DII National Championship as San Diego’s Head Coach while playing in the NLL.
Matt Karweck
The current Head Coach of Colgate was named an Atlas Coaching Fellow midseason this year. After playing at Notre Dame he had coaching stops at Merrimack, Detroit Mercy, and his alma mater. He played in the MLL for two seasons along with a season in the English Lacrosse Premiership.
He was Indiana’s Head Coach from 2007-10 while obtaining his Master’s and was the 2009 GRLC Coach of the Year.
Andrew Newbold
Newbold was a First Team All-NEC LSM at Sacred Heart before playing in the PLL from 2019-2022.
He is currently the Head Coach at University of San Diego.
Jake Naso
Naso last played for the Archers in 2025 and is currently in the player pool. While playing at Duke he was a three time All-American and set the Blue Devil’s record for career faceoff wins and ground balls. He has played for the NLL’s Saskatchewan Rush the past two seasons.
He joined Texas A&M’s staff for the 2026 season and helped the Aggies reach the LSA Championship game.
Brendan Nichtern
The 2022 PLL Rookie of the Year, Nichtern is currently on the Chaos. He was an All-American and Patriot League Player of the Year while at Army.
Nichtern was named an assistant at South Carolina for the 2026 season and saw the Gamecocks reach the National Tournament quarterfinals this year.
John Paul
Paul was the first ever Head Coach of the Atlas in 2019 and stepped down after one season.
Arguably the greatest Head Coach in MCLA history, he won three consecutive National Championships at Michigan and won 49 straight games with a 241-44 overall record. He played an instrumental role in transitioning Michigan to NCAA DI and continued as their Head Coach when they became varsity. He was the MCLA President from 2004-2010 and was part of the 2025 Hall of Fame Class
Jason Lamb
Lamb was an assistant for the Atlas during the inaugural PLL season. He previously had stops with the MLL Outlaws, Notre Dame, USA West, and Adams State. He is currently the Head Coach of NCAA DIII Southern Virginia.
After playing for BYU, he became their first non-player Head Coach and was an original founder of the MCLA, serving as the first president from 1997-2003. He won three National Championships as BYU’s Head Coach and was inducted into the MCLA Hall of Fame in 2019.
Brian Holman
The Head Coach of the Boston Cannons since 2023, he previously coached at Johns Hopkins and UNC as an assistant. As a player, he was a three time All-American and National Champion at Hopkins.
After Utah announced they were going NCAA DI, Holman was brought on as Head Coach. The Utes stayed in the MCLA for the 2017 and 2018 season before officially becoming an NCAA DI team. During that time, Holman led the team to two National Tournament appearances and their first and only RMLC DI Championship.
Marcus Holman
Sitting at second all time in career professional field lacrosse goals, Holman is currently an attackman for the Boston Cannons. His professional career started in 2013 with the MLL’s Ohio Machine, and before that he set the career point record at UNC.
He was an assistant with Utah during their final two MCLA seasons while his father, Brian was the Head Coach. He continued coaching the Utes at the start of their NCAA DI era.
Adam Ghitelman
Ghitelman is currently in the player pool, but last played for Boston. He’s a three time All-Star who also played in the MLL. In college he was a two time All-American at Virginia.
He started as an assistant at Harvard before becoming the Head Coach at USC for the 2016 season. He later joined Holman’s staff for the end of Utah’s initial MCLA era.
Joe Cinoksy
Cinosky was the Defensive Coordinator for the 2025 PLL Champ Atlas and then served as acting Head Coach for the following Championship Series. He was a captain and All-American at Maryland before becoming an MLL All-Star and champ. He also played in the NLL
He was the Head Coach at Minnesota from 2010-2013 while playing for the NLL’s Swarm.
Josh Stout
Stout is currently in the player pool, but was a member of the 2024 Championship Series Champions Boston Cannon.
The 2017 RMLC Rookie of the Year played on Utah’s last two MCLA teams and first two NCAA DI teams after starring at Lone Peak High School. He was the first player to play MCLA and appear in a PLL game.
Kevin Rogers
The 2020 NCAA DIII player of the year starred at Lynchburg for four seasons before playing his last at High Point. He played in the PLL from 2021-2023 and won the 2023 Championship Series.
He was the Offensive Coordinator for Temple in 2023.
Mike Bocklet
Bocklet was one of the best players in Fairfield history before scoring 48 points and winning an MLL Championship with Denver in 2015. He last played for the Chaos in 2019. He was the Head Coach for NCAA DIII SUNY Purchase from 2016 to 2021 and is now HC at his alma mater John Jay HS.
He was the SUNY Purchase’s MCLA Head Coach in 2016 while they were transitioning to NCAA DIII
Chris Kolon
Kolon was a member of the 2019 Atlas coaching staff. He retired in 2024 as Detroit Mercy’s Head Coach after 16th total seasons with the team. He played collegiately at Rutgers
He coached at Michigan State from 2000 to 2001.
Mikie Schlosser
Schlosser had a standout career at Michigan before heading to the MLL and later PLL. He has two PLL All-Star appearances and Championships. He played a game for Denver this season before being released.
The Davis, California native is listed as a guest coach for UC Davis.
Kevin Crowley
Crowley was briefly signed with the Chaos before he opted for surgery and never played a PLL game. He is the first and one of only five players to be drafted 1st overall in both the MLL and NLL. He just finished his 14th NLL season and has 948 career points.
He played one season at Simon Fraser where he was 2nd Team All-PNCLL at Faceoff before transferring to Stony Brook.
Caleb Hammett
The Drip King was a part of the 2025 Cannons training camp roster, but was cut before the season started.
He was a 1st Team All-American faceoff guy and helped lead Liberty to their first MCLA National Championship in 2025. Before his time in Lynchburg he was All-A10 at UMass
Sterling Hupp
Hupp was a part of the 2024 Cannons training camp roster, but was cut before the season started.
He was a 1st Team All-American at Texas in 2024 and is the first and only player to only play MCLA and attend a PLL training camp.
